I’m unimpressed. Walking in I felt as if every table I passed had a large steel bowl of oil cooked fish. If I were a lover of fish boiled in oil 水煮鱼maybe I would have like this restaurant better. I ordered the cauliflower dry pot which came so well done that there was no reason for light the flame underneath the tiny wok. Normally I love cauliflower but here it was so salty that I could barely eat it without combining one piece with a mouthful of rice. I also ordered the deep fried mushrooms which were actually okay. I liked the hint of 花椒 Sichuan pepper corns. Finally I ordered the dried tofu 豆腐干 (doesn’t translate to anything that sounds appetizing) but here again the dish was too salty.
I liked the long table seating toward the front of the restaurant. The large picture windows were a nice touch. Unfortunately all that work gone into design was sort of lost on me because I was being attacked by mosquitoes (while inside!).
Service was very good and pleasant to deal with.
I’ve been to other fei teng yu xiang restaurants and although I know this chain is very popular in China I’ve never walked out thinking, “I’m going to tell all my friends what a good meal I’ve had here.” I bet you won’t either.

This place is great for a chain restaurant. Be prepared that the food is REALLY spicy! The laziji almost burnt my mouth. Outstanding service and a pleasant atmosphere make for a very nice evening.

I especially like the one near LiangMaQiao subway station. It's basically across the street from the Kunlun Hotel in an alley. You can find it at XinYuan South Road. If in doubt, ask a local!

I stumbled into this place by accident a while back whilst trying to find football365 as we were dying to watch some premiership action not long after arriving in Beijing. After scouring Chunxiu lu back and forth trying to navigate the confusing one way system we finally gave up to hunger. Having passed the restaurant you can't help but stare at the lights so you can't miss it if you're trying to find the place. It's about five minutes walk north on Chunxiu lu from the Gongti Bei lu intersection, unless I'm wrong and reviewing the wrong place or another chain in the vicinity.
The interior is large and the toilets are clean, it's not a bad place to take visitors who maybe put off by some of the squalid toilets that be found lurking around Beijing (though some might say squatters are cleaner, there is no physical contact made if you know what I mean).
The menu is comprehensive and the portions good in size, as with any Sichuan place or Chinese restaurant for that matter the more people the better if you want to try many dishes. Though having more people has its drawbacks, if you and your friends are rather democratic then it might take longer to choose dishes than for your first dish to come, I'd say enlist the help of an authoritative Chinese friend.
All the usual dishes are there and cooked to good standard, such as the mapou dofu, gongbao jiding. I personally look forward to the Shuizhu (the big bowls of fish or meat cooked in sichuan flavoured spicy oil soup). They are very good sized portions. My personal favourite is the shuizhu qingwa (frog), they don't quarter the frogs unlike some places to create the illusion of an abundance of frog meat. For those who haven't tried frog meat it is quite similar to a sturdy but succulent fish, somewhat like the little fish cheeks you get on steamed fish.
Most of the Shuizhu's cost around 90 to 110 and the side dishes are reasonable in price, you should be looking at less than 100 per person including beer. which I'm sure countless bottles will be drunk if it is your first shuizhu experience.
The service is good but English coherency amongst the staff is pretty non-existent but the menu is in English and has lots of pictures. Pretty much most of the dishes came together in a constant flow apart from the little xinjiang bbq mutton shanks/legs, which tasted rather nice but why my friend ordered it in a sichuan restaurant baffles me, perhaps he was feeling quite the carnivore and needed some meat on the bone.
They do have a lack of choice of vegetables as it a lot of the dishes come with meat, but you can ask them to leave the meat out. The only really comprehensive choice of vegetables was found on one of the last pages where you can choose a decent choice of vegetables, mainly of the leafy kind, to be stir-fried in a few different ways, such as garlic, chili, etc. A pick and mix arrangement that can be found in other restaurants I've encountered.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this place unless you're in the region or want to head towards the nightlife in Sunlitun afterwards. And also remember to bring some paper napkins if you feel embarrassed constantly asking for napkins to wipe the chili sweat....

It's the second time I went to this place, first it's easy to go and with these neon light outside you can't miss it...
The inside of the restaurant is nice, if you book in advance they'll put you on the first floor, which is less noisy than the ground one.
The service is very good and the waiters always there for you, some speaks a little bit of English.
About the food, I remember the first time I went there, I was amazed by the food, this time it was still good, but, I can't say it was the best I ate.
Their shuizhuyu is still great but the other dishes were ok.
We still had a good time and if you expect a good Sichuan near Gongti, it's the place to go to.

Feiteng Yuxiang is actually a chain of Sichuan restaurants. Plan to arrive either a bit later or earlier than the regular feeding times to avoid an extended wait. The menu changes regularly although not enough to keep old customers from returning. Standards like Kungpao chicken and Ganbiansijidou are done up nicely here. Other great dishes include the dried beef strips (niurou gan si) and the chicken in hot oil (kou shui ji) but their specialty is fish strips in a large bowl of hot oil (shuizhuyu). I had the shuizhuyu three times now and it is spicy but not as spicy as at the Sichuan representative office. Prices are reasonable. Bathroom is clean as is the restaurant. Service is consistent
