Nightlife:
Beijing has fast become a tourist destination that has
surpassed many in its wake. About 20 years ago, such a life of joy and
entertainment was unheard of in Beijing, China. But as time changed, so did
China and now with a massively booming economy, it is fast moving towards the
westernized way of living, especially in regards to its 'night culture'.
Nowadays, teenagers can be seen roaming and spending their time at a local bar
or cinemas, theaters, nightclubs, song and dance halls, Karaoke clubs or
restaurants, which has become a daily routine in Beijing and it is widely
accepted by the evolving Chinese society.
Beijing is known to be a traditional and conservative city, where people like
to spend their time in homes, with their families. However, after sunset,
Beijing still remains a hot spot for tourists and visitors, due to its numerous
pubs, eating joints, clubs and nightclubs.
Bar & Cafe:
One of the key hot-spots in Beijing are its bars and
cafes. These crowd magnets attract a variety of people, varying from workers
and officials from the Embassies to the teenage population as well. One of
Beijing's well known areas is the New Bar Street and the Old Bar Street. At the
former, mostly the youth of Beijing can be found having a good time. At the
latter, the bars are more well known for its tourist visitors. It is an ideal
place to take a stroll in the evening, as it offers a splendid view around

One of the finest places to visit and to really take in the nightlife of
Beijing is to visit the Hard Rock Cafe. The world renowned music central is a
hot-spot for numerous tourists in Beijing. Each night, a live band performs at
the venue and these bands are primarily from Australia or the USA.
Clubs & Pubs:
The clubbing culture has grasped Beijing nightlife and
the youth are very much into this trend. There are numerous places that are
open well into the late hours in the night and attract a lot of tourist
clientèle. One of the most popular club cum bar is the 'Angel Club' in Beijing.
It was inaugurated in 2005 and since then have been the favorite destination
for tourists and locals as well. Especially on weekends, the venue and Beijing
itself is packed with people enjoying their food, drinks and dancing to the
thumping beats of the techno music played by the DJs.
Beijing has indeed become a nightlife central with more and more events and
places opening up for the emerging youth and it has surely become a boon for
the expanding Beijing tourism.
Forbidden City
The Forbidden City is one of the most preferred
Beijing attractions for tourists to travel to. It was the site for the Chinese
Imperial Palace and was the home to 24 emperors from the mid-Ming dynasty to
the end of the Qing dynasty. It is one of the most important monuments in the
world and thus has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is
located in the middle of Beijing city and at present houses the Palace Museum.
It is the perfect place for tourists and visitors to get a glimpse of the
traditional palace architecture, enjoy the sight of the treasures kept in the
palace, and learn of the legends and other facts and fiction about the imperial
family and the court.
